COMPOSER
Raimundo Pineda is known for a compositional voice that masterfully blends Venezuelan traditional rhythms with concert music sophistication. His works often draw on folkloric dance forms — for example, the joropo and merengue — yet he reimagines them through modern harmony, jazz influences, and contemporary structures.
Pineda’s style also reflects a philosophy of erasing boundaries between popular and academic music: he does not treat folk traditions as mere exotic color, but integrates them deeply into a polished, virtuosic concert idiom.

Pineda’s Music is not only brimming with wonderfully vital South American rhythms and excitement, but also contains a deeper side which seems to invoke the powers of Darkness and Passion.

"It is a very difficult piece, both to play and to conduct, but it is a very complete masterpiece"

"Raimundo is one of the most versatile and accomplished musicians from Venezuela on the music scene today. Besides being an excellent flutist and educator with an incredible depth of experience in the famous "El Sistema" of Venezuela and having toured the world with Gustavo Dudamel and the Simon Bolivar Orchestra, Raimundo is a very creative and innovative composer expertly weaving his Venezuelan heritage into his music with remarkable ease. He is also an accomplished conductor, having conducted many of the orchestras of Venezuela and Latin America. I recommend Raimundo in the highest sense as a great musician and example of great Venezuelan talent."
